When did you decide to be a DJ?
When I was 13, I was playing around with my brothers decks in his room,
listening to him and watching videos of DJs like Brandon Block, Pippi, Roger Sanchez.
I kind of thought: "This does not look too bad".

What music were you into then?
At that time ... German Techno and Trance,
and at home we would listen to more chilled out compilations by producers like Pippi but also pop music...

Has music always been a part of your life?
Since I have been very young I always had the feeling of complicity with music especially from Ibiza, listening to chill out when I was twelve in my room.
Yes, for some reason, music has always been part of my life.

What were your favourite interviews?
I have been interviewed a lot and cameras still intimidate me a little.
My favourite interviews so far have always been with Ibiza Sonica.

What labels are your currently working with and what are some recent projects?
For Cafe del Mar I compiled Chill House Vol V, and we sold more than 30.000 copies and I am also working with Extremely House Music a trademark for good House Music from Ibiza.

When did you set up Zoologic radio?
Two years ago, playing on the radio once more, Igor and Miguel the two owners of Sonica called me over: " Hey Valentin, why dont you join us for the morning shows and play with us? I agreed and then they suggested I should talk live on air. I was a little unsure but I worked on it for a few months and progressed well; we ended up creating the Zoologica Radioshow. This is how it started and here we are!

What was your first big moment as a DJ?
In 2002, when I had the opportunity to play at Pacha Ibiza in the legendary parties supporting AIDS victims. I was sharing the cabin with Cesar de Melero, DJ Pippi and Jose de Divina in front of 3000 people. It was incredible, my family and friends where all looking up proudly at me from the dancefloor. I will never forget this moment.

What has happened since then?
These kind of moments give you enough motivation to fight for what you want and I followed up by playing at Space, being part of their opening line ups at the opening parties the last two years.
Since 2004 I am the resident DJ of Cafe Del Mar and I have travelled to many countries such as Germany, Austria, Denmark, Slovenia, UK, India, Italy... I have played with artists like Carl Craig, Radio Slave, Kenneth Bager or Jose Gonzalez.
I am one of the radio host for Sonica and I continue to play day after day to improve as a professional and as a musician. This year I have been nominated as the best "Best Ibiza Resident DJ" at the DJ Awards.

Describe your sound now?
I have many sounds, I love music in general and I always have moments to suprise with something new. If I had to define mysefl, I suppose that I am always trying to find a good groove with elegance. Above all with an element which make the difference, my styles range from chill out to deep house and tec house. I always try to be diferent, not a visionary but never commercial.

What does the future hold?.
Continuing to play all around Ibiza, at Cafe del Mar, Blue Marlin, Atzaro, Space and all around the world, presenting my new Radioshow worldwide, making compilations and producing good tracks for good labels.
